UCLA Dept of Art Lecture: Gelare Khoshgozaran
Wednesday, April 9, 2025, 7:30 p.m.
Undisciplinary artist and filmmaker Gelare Khoshgozaran engages with the legacies of imperial violence manifested in war, militarization, and borders. In their artist talk they will share how they use film and video to construct narratives that redefine existing constructions of “home” as a means of approaching new conceptualizations of belonging. Khoshgozaran is an assistant professor of art at UCLA and co-editor of MARCH: a journal of art and strategy. Recent exhibitions and screenings of their work include MoMA Doc Fortnight, Delfina Foundation, Images Festival, EMPAC, MASS MoCA, and the Hammer Museum.
